Non-life market report

The market grows – the Top 3 falls behind

The first edition of the Non-life Market Monitor brings every public data source together into a single picture of the Dutch non-life market: size, growth, market shares and profitability, by product market and by player.

The Dutch non-life market wrote €19.6 billion in gross premiums in 2025, up 5.7% on 2024. That growth did not come from the players who dominate the market: the three large Dutch insurers stalled at 3.8%, while foreign generalists grew fastest at 9.8%. The combined market share of the Top 3 now stands at 44.8% — and is falling.

The report covers the whole market: size and growth by product group, market shares of the twenty largest players, profitability by cluster and a separate cut of the managing general agent market. Built bottom-up from public sources, and repeated every year from now on.
